Black Truffle and Maple Meatballs
These meatballs are a perfect combination of sweet and savory with a hint of
black truffle flavor that will have you reaching for more.
Flavorful and delicious, these can be served as a starter all on their own, or
beside a side dish as a full meal. Thanks to California Olive Ranch Black Truffle
Chef’s Oil and a drop of maple syrup in this recipe, your meatballs will be perfectly
caramelized on the outside and juicy and hearty on the inside.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sourdough bread, roughly chopped
- 1lb ground beef, lamb or pork
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon California Olive Ranch Black Truffle EVOO
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/3 cup finely chopped sweet or white onion
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon cumin powder
- 2 teaspoons pink or sea salt
- 2 teaspoons Italian herb blend
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons coconut aminos
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400F.
- To a medium sized mixing bowl, add your ground beef, sourdough, onion, garlic, maple syrup, coconut aminos, spices and egg. Mix well.
- Add in California Olive Ranch Black Truffle EVOO, mix again until incorporated.
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, scoop out about 1.5 tablespoons worth of the meat mixture and shape into a ball.
- Place meatballs in an oven safe baking pan or skillet, the meatballs can be touching each other.
- Roast meatballs in preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, until cooked through and caramelized on the outside.
- Top with freshly chopped parsley if desired and an extra drizzle of California Olive Ranch Black Truffle EVOO.
